Our History

2008

Foundations & Buildings (FAB) Ltd was founded by Phil Joyce. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry working for various companies, Phil decided it was time to set up his own company. Foundations and Buildings LTD started with a small team of just 6 people, based out of Manor Farm in Hogsthorpe.

2012

After completing his degree in Buildings Survey and QS, at Sheffield University, FAB Ltd welcomed Sam Stevenson, Phil’s Son, to the team. Sam originally started by accompanying Phil and the other crew members, learning the ins-and-outs of the industry and the company.

2014

After gaining extensive knowledge by working alongside the others, Sam is now predominantly based in the office. Working as our Engineering Manager, Sam

assists clients with their building requirements and specifications. Sam’s product and design knowledge has helped to put many clients’ minds at ease during the initial stages of their projects. We also gained our CE accreditation in 2014, signifying our products meet the EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.

2020

Work began on Merlin House, our new base on Lancaster Business Park in East Kirkby. The new site features a large fabrication workshop, paint shed, mechanics workshop, offices and plenty of storage for the materials, tools and vehicles we use.

Present Day

17 years later, Foundations and Buildings Ltd is still going from strength to strength. Phil is still a very active member of the team and can often be found managing job sites all over Lincolnshire. Sam is now the director of the company but still remains the first port of call for the majority of our clients, assisting them in every stage of the project, from initial enquirers right up to completion and beyond. Our team has now grown to over 30 people and continues to grow as the business is expanding.
